We were so pleased to see such a great turnout for our first community potluck at the Vernon Elks Lodge! Nearly 100 people showed up to meet the VDICSS team and volunteers. The potluck was a great opportunity for newcomers to the community to get to know each other and for everyone to enjoy some fantastic food. It was so wonderful to see so many new faces and to get to know the people who make up our community.
There was an impressive variety of dishes on offer, from homemade pierogies and vegetarian shepherd's pie to cheese bread and cookies. There was something for everyone, and everyone seemed to enjoy trying a little bit of everything.
A big thank you to the Vernon Elks Lodge for hosting us, and to everyone who brought food to share, and a massive thank you to our Community Connections Coordinator Anetha Kashuba for organizing and planning this event.
