About the event

About Mehrnaz:

Mehrnaz, originally from Iran, holds an advanced degree in clinical statistics and business administration, with a strong passion for mental health and therapeutic psychology. Living in different parts of the Middle East, observing and understanding the issues in approaching mental health well-being, especially for women, she made her journey to learn about mental health through different courses and programs. After moving to Canada in 2011, her experience with cultural integration challenges deepened her commitment to mental health, leading her to complete a Counselling and Psychotherapy program in 2022. Now, she works as a youth counsellor specializing in substance use at the John Howard Society of North Vancouver Island and has a private practice focused on supporting Middle Eastern immigrant and refugee women with integration, self-worth, and mental health, collaborating with the Central Vancouver Island Multicultural Society.
