About Dr Pavna Sodhi:
Dr. Pavna Sodhi, with over 25 years in psychotherapy and research, brings a unique perspective to culturally responsive trauma-informed practices, focusing on BIPOC and immigrant mental health. Her work is widely published in national and international journals and books. In 2017, she authored Exploring Immigrant and Sexual Minority Mental Health: Reconsidering Multiculturalism (Routledge), which is rooted in the lived experiences of immigrant narratives dealing with systemic oppression, migration, trauma, and identity formation. Her latest book, Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy for BIPOC Communities: Decolonizing Mental Health (Routledge), launched in June 2024, further explores these themes with a focus on decolonizing mental health practices. Dr. Pavna continues to contribute to peer-reviewed journals, anthologies, books, and podcasts, shaping the conversation around trauma-informed care and culturally responsive mental health practices for marginalized communities.
