About the event

Evan Matchett-Wong is a Two-Spirit textile artist hailing from Treaty 6 Territory, with a strong focus on intersectional artistic practices, reflecting their mixed Chinese-Dene heritage and queerness. They will use Indigenous practices to facilitate conversation and ideas and create an open and safe space for participants. This embroidery/textile based workshop will give the opportunity for local youth to explore not only their unique identities and talk about their experiences of oppression but also give them the time to heal and celebrate their heritage.

We will go from 10 AM until completion (this will be dependant on each participant, but we'll go until 5 PM at the latest).

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
