About the Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Program

The Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Program, part of the Department of Canadian Heritage, is dedicated to enhancing Canada’s identity as a diverse and inclusive society.

Program Objectives

The program aims to support communities by:

  • Championing anti-racism efforts, nurturing ethnocultural diversity and inclusion.

  • Promoting intercultural and interfaith understanding.

  • Ensuring equitable opportunities for equity-deserving populations and community organizations to thrive in every aspect of Canadian society.

  • Fostering dialogue on multiculturalism, anti-racism, racial equity, diversity, and inclusion to drive systemic and institutional change, making Canada a more inclusive society free from racism and hate.

  • Conducting research and gather evidence to better understand the challenges and disparities faced by equity-deserving populations.

Our Latest Project

With generous funding from the MARP project stream, VDICSS launched an inspiring series of arts-focused workshops to explore the impacts of exclusion, discrimination, and oppression. Learn more about this project in our publication below.
